How to do it

Warrior I: exercise position

Warrior I

Lunge posture with arms overhead that stretches the hip flexor of the back leg and works balance.

Form. Take a long step back with the back heel down and turned out, bend the front knee over the ankle, square your hips to the front and raise your arms keeping your ribs down; hold and switch sides.

Common mistake. Letting the front knee pass the ankle or drift inward, arching the lower back, or raising the shoulders toward the ears.

Quadriceps, Iliopsoas · Bodyweight

The muscles listed are an editorial reference, not a measurement. Adjust the range and the load to what feels comfortable.
