Scissor kicks
Core exercise lying down in which the straight legs alternate up and down without touching the floor, keeping the lower back stable.
Form. Lie with your hands under your hips or beside your body, raise your straight legs and alternate their position with short, controlled movements without lifting your lower back.
Common mistake. Arching the back, lowering the legs more than you can control, holding your breath, or tensing the neck.

Floor flutter kick
Short alternating kicks with straight legs from the floor to train hip flexion while the abs limit lower-back extension.
Form. Gently press your lower back into the floor, use a leg range you can control and alternate without holding your breath.
Common mistake. Lowering the legs too far, arching the back, kicking with momentum, or tensing the neck.
