Treadmill run

Common mistake. Holding the rails while running, overstriding, or raising the intensity all at once.

Treadmill walk
Brisk walk on a flat treadmill, low-impact cardio to warm up, recover or accumulate activity.
Form. Set a speed that lets you walk upright without holding on, take full steps landing heel first and let your arms swing.
Common mistake. Holding the rails, looking down at your feet, taking very short steps, or raising the speed until you have to jog.

Incline treadmill walk
Brisk walk with the treadmill on an incline, low-impact cardio that raises heart rate without running.
Form. Set an incline and speed you can sustain without holding on, walk upright with full steps and let your arms swing.
Common mistake. Holding the rails and leaning back, raising incline and speed all at once, or taking very short steps.
