How to do it

Reverse-grip barbell upright row: exercise position

Reverse-grip barbell upright row

Barbell upright row with an underhand grip, a variation that changes wrist position and how the pull is felt on the shoulders and trapezius.

Form. Keep the bar close to your body, raise your elbows only to a comfortable height and lower slowly without leaning the trunk.

Common mistake. Going beyond what the shoulder finds comfortable, shrugging the neck, using hip momentum, or bending the wrists under tension.
