How to do it

Medicine ball sit-up: exercise position

Medicine ball sit-up

Sit-up from the floor holding a medicine ball that adds moderate load to the ab work.

Form. Start with the ball near your chest, sit the trunk up without pulling on your neck and return lowering one vertebra at a time.

Common mistake. Using arm momentum, slamming your back into the floor, or choosing a ball that stops you from controlling the descent.
