How to do it

Seated banded hip abduction: exercise position

Seated banded hip abduction

Controlled knee opening against a band to work the muscles on the side of the hip.

Form. Keep your feet planted, open your knees without rotating the pelvis and return slowly without losing tension.

Common mistake. Bouncing, shifting the pelvis to one side, or using a band that stops you from controlling the range.
